Chromalab

A fictional pigment lab
Observation notebook 12

Color is
a living thing.

Three imagined cultures. Three ways of making a mark. A small study in pigments grown, not mixed.

R-12 / rose
Branching edge, satin center
O-08 / ochre
Round, raised colonies
V-03 / violet
Dry, irregular margins

Pigment is only one part of the picture. Look at the edges.

No two colonies draw the same outline. That is the interesting part.

Leave a little room to grow.

Add one illustrated colony to the rose plate. Watch the pigment occupy the agar without crossing its neighbors.

6 colonies observed

R-12 forms branching pink islands with darker centers. Add a colony to continue the visual study.

A drawing simulation, not a culture protocol. The strain names and observations belong to this imagined laboratory.
